Our carers receive formal training
externally and internally from our deputy manageress.
As an experienced psychiatric nurse, she is qualified
in post-compulsory education. Many of our staff are qualified
to NVQ2, NVQ3 & NVQ4 levels. Training takes place
using a variety of approaches including role-play, group
sessions, one-to-one mentoring and appraisal and is carried
out in accordance with industry guidelines. |

Andrea Fettiplace, Proprietor
Andrea Fettiplace has owned Edendale Residential Care
Home for over 18 years. During this time, Edendale has
gone from strength to strength, gaining recognition throughout
East Sussex, Kent and London as one of the south-east's
key service providers for the elderly mentally ill. Andrea
is dedicated to running Edendale in a professional manner,
whilst creating a loving, caring and homely environment
for residents to enjoy. |

| She maintains one-to-one relationships
with all residents and involves herself in their daily
lives, as well as overseeing the general running of Edendale.
She is a long-standing member of the Residential Care
Home Association. |

Sheila Feeley, Manager
With over 30 years experience in nursing the elderly,
mentally ill, Sheila Feeley came to Edendale Care Home
in 2005. Prior to this post, she had worked as a senior
nurse in St Anne's Psychiatric Hospital in St Leonards-on-Sea,
East Sussex, and held a range of key positions, including
Ward Nurse and Unit Manager of their ECT department. |
Her diverse background as a mental health nurse enables
her to deliver a wealth of knowledge to all of Edendale's
40 members of staff and one of Sheila's principle responsibilities
at the home is to provide professional in-house training
to carers. With a variety of qualifications, including
two NVQ4 achievements in Management and Training &
Development, Sheila is committed to maintaining and improving
care standards within the home. Her primary roles include
management of care plans, overseeing medication procedures,
liaising with doctors and district nurses on behalf of
the residents, coordinating and managing the staff and
overseeing policy compliance within the workplace.

Katherine Morgan & Ann Wang
The principle roles of Kathleen and Ann are to ensure
that the residents' needs are fully catered to and that
members of staff are performing to a high standard at
all times. Their 'hands-on' role at Edendale allows them
to become very involved in the day-to-day care activities
and to liaise closely with the management regarding issues
such as the residents' well-being and training requirements.
Their excellent people-skills and unbeatable knowledge
of each individual resident makes them invaluable members
of staff. All have worked at Edendale for between 8 -
10 years! |
